Welcome to our very first blog post! Everyone else is blogging so why shouldn't we?

We want to share with you some of the 'ins' and 'outs' of JavaPipe, concerning our products and other services in order to give you a feel for who we are. Our first blog will 'share our story' this will help you understand how we became JavaPipe.

Our company was established in early 2000 as a media based company called Storm's i Media. Our primary focus was on video and 3D animation services. Strange as you might think, the system we built became the backbone in transitioning us to become a premier java hosting provider. During the early days we were hosting most of our sites on shared servers through other companies. With our design skills we were designing premiere sites in our business segment and our clients started requesting that we build and host their web sites in addition to the animation work we were providing them. The hosting segment started to grow and our business started hosting sites outside the animation segment. We then began leasing dedicated servers to host our client's sites and eventually started a new company called 'Display Hosting'.

As time progressed, clients communicated a dire need for java hosting solutions. We were able to provide these solutions due to the shared tomcat solution that came with the Ensim control panel. Unfortunately, we ran into some initial problems. Our first pass didn't provide the flexibility developers needed to successfully utilize frameworks within their application. Frankly & it was buggy as hell! So, we set out to fix our system problems. In order to correct the issues we ended up learning Tomcat inside and out and how to integrate it seamlessly with the Apache Web Server (Not an easy task by any means!). Our company came to the conclusion that one cannot depend on control panels to provide a good 'private' tomcat hosting solution. Due to this we set out to build a new system that could overcome the obstacles control panels presented. This system, which has improved over time, has become what JavaPipe is all about & 'flexibility' for developers to get their job done; 'stability' so they can sleep at night knowing that we have things taken care of; and finally 'reliability' so our customers can count on their applications working consistently. In 2003, due to our successful tomcat solution, we changed our name to JavaPipe to reflect our focus on new and leading edge java solutions.
