VPS stands for Virtual Private Server and it is basically a full fledged server that is a virtual partition of an existing dedicated server. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system. You get full access to this server where you have full control at a much lower cost and more resource efficiency than a dedicated server. This server can be independently rebooted whenever you need!
Uses for VPS
- Complete access to full fledged OS
- No sharing of resources. Resources are dedicated to your Virtual Server
- Run JBOSS, Glassfish, Tomcat, Geronimo or any other Application server that suites your needs
- Reboot whenever you need - no need to worry about other users on your system.

Who should use VPS?
The most common candidates for VPS are groups that are conscious about security or need full access to root but don't need the resources of a full fledged server. Also if you with to run JBOSS, glassfish or any other application server.
Who should not use VPS?
If you do not have the Linux expertise to maintain your server then you would be best to stick with our shared JAVA/Tomcat or LAMP solutions. We provide support to a degree. In order to keep the costs of VPS solutions down, we keep our support to a minimum. We will be happy to administer your server at $25/hour.
